Abstract:Fifty-two subjects were randomly assigned to one of four conditions according to a 2 x 2 factorial design in order to determine the effect of internal visualization on short-term memory for digits as measured by the Wechsler Digit Span subtest. Surprisingly, internal visualization (imaging with eyes closed) was found not to affect Digit Span performance significantly.
