ObjectiveTo contribute to the recognition of psychotherapeutic nursing (PTN) as a regulated advanced clinical practice (ACP) in Spain, as is the case in other countries.BackgroundNurses are continually evolving to improve overall health outcomes. PTN has become a reality, with several authors describing it as an ACP. In Spain, psychotherapy is not officially regulated, which has led to a significant number of psychiatric nurses adopting an important ACP in this area without recognition.Sources of evidenceEvidence confirms that PTN possesses the attributes necessary to be considered an ACP. Nurses, like psychotherapists, independently address the complex needs of individuals and families within the context of therapeutic relationships, and there is a pressing need to advance formal processes of regulation and certification.DiscussionPTN has evolved at different rates depending on local initiatives, policies and various professional interests. In Spain, it is crucial to evaluate its outcomes, recognise it as an ACP and develop training plans for its regulation and accreditation.ConclusionsMental health nurses in Spain have a strong interest in PTN being recognised as an ACP. To this end, they should join forces with other partners, scientific associations and international bodies such as the International Council of Nurses (ICN) to make PTN an internationally recognised ACP.Implications for nursing practicePsychotherapeutic nurses could contribute to improving mental health outcomes, client satisfaction and health system efficiency, and their formal recognition is an opportunity to enhance their professional identity, competence and autonomy.Implications for nursing policyNursing policy needs to be reoriented towards strengthening psychotherapy as an ACP. Synergies and alliances between international nursing associations and the ICN can promote its development and implementation, while research, education and leadership are essential to achieving official regulation and accreditation.

Objective: This study was conducted to determine the relationship between the stigma experienced by infertile women, and the level of infertility distress and self-efficacy with the affecting factors. Methods: This descriptive study carried out 352 infertile women diagnosed with primary infertility. Data were collected with the Personal Information Form, the Infertility Distress Scale (IDS), the Infertility Stigma Scale (ISS), and the Infertility Self-Efficacy Scale–Short Form (TISE-SF). Results: The total IDS, ISS, and TISE-SF mean scores of the women included in the study were found to be 43.62±12.00, 64.24±27.40 and 19.70±5.69, respectively. Aim: This study was conducted in order to determine how positive psychotherapy (PPT)-based training given to mothers of children with autism affects their psychological well-being, hope, and quality of life. Methods: The research was conducted as an experimental study with a pretest-posttest control group, with mothers of children diagnosed with autism. The study was completed with the 34 mothers of children with autism (23 in the control group and 11 in the experimental group). While the mothers in the experimental group were delivered eight sessions of PPT-based training, no intervention was applied to mothers in the control group. Results: It was found that the scores of the mothers in the experimental group on the psychological well-being (41.72 ± 1.74), hope (49.45 ± 1.35) and quality of life (91.72 ± 2.59) scales following the PPT-based training increased when compared to their scores on the psychological well-being (35.27±2.00), hope (44.36±1.65) and quality of life (74.18±4.24) scales before the training.
