The effect of raw material composition of clothes on selected physiological parameters of human organism

Abstract: Present studies were undertaken to determine the influence of clothing made from natural and synthetic fibres and their blends, which transiently covered a human body, on the activity of motor units of forearm muscles determined by electromyographic method. The clothes made out of 100% linen, 100% polyester (PES) and their blends with a different percentage of both kinds of raw material were examined. The studies proved that there were considerable changes in the parameters of skinclothes microclimate that dep… Show more

“…[1][2][3][4] Clothing made of natural cellulosic fibers such as flax and organic cotton (OC) provide relaxation and general well-being of the users. [5][6][7] It was confirmed that the flax fibers from specific varieties of the plant, extracted from stems via the dew retting method, has inherent bioactivity and shows antioxidative 8 and antibacterial properties, 9 which justifies the use of natural fabrics/knitted fabrics from flax and OC for the production of clothing with care and therapeutic properties.…”

“…The comparative study on comfort parameters of linen and linen/polyethersulfone (PES) clothing during moderate physical exercise was described by Zimniewska [38]. Tested shirts and trousers were prepared from linen and polyester fiber in different composition of the raw materials; share of linen in the blend with PES increased by 25% in each following sample.…”
