The Effect of Temperature Variations on Wood’s Metal Plate Melting Simulation by Using MPS

Abstract: Two-dimensional simulation of Wood’s Metal Plate (WMP) Melting Process has been conducted by varying the molten temperature. This simulation was performed by using Moving Particle Semi-Implicit (MPS) method which can calculate the Navier-Stokes and heat transfer equation without divining mesh system. As a substitute, particles are selected to represent every part of simulation such as fluid, wall and dummy type. The experiment of WMP melting process has been conducted by Sudha (2018). The molten Wood’s Metal w… Show more

“…From the obtained results, the relocation pattern of the liquids is similar to the results obtained by Ilham et al (2018) using a different liquid, where the MPS result is compared to the experiment. Therefore, it is expected that the temperature did not significantly impact the relocation process, which agrees with Hidayati et al (2020). Furthermore, the splash pattern of this study is similar to the results of Hidayati et al (2021).…”

“…Salah satu metode yang dapat digunakan untuk menganalisis proses pelelehan freeze plug adalah metode Moving Particle Semiimplicit (MPS). Metode berbasis partikel ini telah digunakan pada penelitian sebelumnya terkait pengaruh penambahan material tembaga dalam freeze plug [8] dan beberapa kasus nuklir lainnya [9][10][11][12].…”
