The effects of balance training on balance pad and sand on balance and gait ability in stroke patients

Abstract: PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of balance training on balance pad and sand on balance and gait ability in stroke patients. METHODS: Sixty stroke patients were divided into a Balance Pad group(BPG, N = 20), a Sand group (SG, N = 20) and a Hard Ground group (HGG, N = 20) randomly. The subjects in the Hard Ground group stood in a comfortable position, faced a therapist, then threw a Swiss ball back and forth. They then performed balance training in which they raised and lowered th… Show more

“…23 According to a study of proprioceptive sensorimotor control for stroke patients for three weeks, the experimental group showed significant improvement in static and dynamic balance ability compared to the control group. 24 Therefore, the correlation of proprioception according to the balance control ability is supported by the results of previous studies. The muscle circumference of the lower extremities was measured in relation to the balance control ability.…”

“…Specifically, strengthening the gluteus medius muscle plays a crucial role in maintaining optimal movement patterns and overall well-being ( 5 ). Previous studies have provided evidence that regular gluteus medius exercises contribute to improved movement, reduced knee pain, and enhanced spinal health ( 6 , 7 ).…”

“…4 The nervous system of the human body continuously receives signals from the visual center, organ vestibule, muscle, joint capsule and proprioceptors in the skin, and achieves the goal of regulating body balance by activating and controlling muscles, so as to keep the limbs stable. 5 The quality of balance ability is an important factor for the human body to maintain balance and stability when completing sports, and the lack of balance ability is the main cause of sports injuries in sports. Balance ability has a positive effect on the overall ability of marathon runners; 6 How to improve the overall ability of marathon runners through balance training; Which programs can effectively improve the runner's balance ability; Based on the above questions, this paper analyzes the relationship between marathon training and balance ability through experimental research.…”
