The Effects of Initial Procalcitonin Levels on Mortality Rates in Geriatric Patients Undergoing Surgery

Abstract: Procalcitonin levels do not predict mortality following surgery. C-reactive protein and erythrocyte sedimentation rate are more useful biomarkers predicting mortality in geriatric patients undergoing surgery.
