The Expression of the RUVBL1 Component of the R2TP Complex Correlates with Poor Prognosis in DLBCL

Abstract: <b><i>Introduction:</i></b> Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) is the most prevalent subtype of non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma (NHL) accounting for 30% of adult NHL worldwide and 50% in developing countries like India. DNA damage and Myc-induced transformation are well-known contributing factors towards development of DLBCL. A recently identified HSP90 co-chaperone complex R2TP has been shown to contribute towards DNA damage and Myc-induced transformation. This study aimed to analyse the imm… Show more

“…RUVBL1, or RuvB-like AAA ATPase 1, has been associated with poor prognosis and a higher relapse rate in patients with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (17). In addition, high expression of RuvBL1 in lung cancer was associated with a poor overall prognosis (18).…”

“…The most virulent malignancy of mature B-lymphocytes is diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) which is commonly found in non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma of adults with heterogenous genetic disorders (Lone et al 2022 ). This disorder is perpetuated by B-cells of the germinal center (GC) and contributes to cancer development attributes such as high cell growth rate and genomic instability (Hanahan and Weinberg 2011 ).…”

“…Deregulation of tumor suppressor pathways including p53 and pRb is responsible for rapid proliferation and transformation (Giacinti and Giordano 2006 ). In addition, the function of Rb and p53 is activated by the R2TP complex, suggesting that any alterations in any of the members of the complex can drive cells to malignancy (Lone et al 2022 ).…”
