“…Previous studies investigated the phytochemicals of P. macrocarpa leaf and fruit, which showed the existence of bioactive compounds such as flavonoids, polyphenols, saponins, tannins, and lignins. These compounds have medicinal values and may be attributed to the high chemopreventive and antioxidant activities comparable to modern medicines (Alara et al., 2017; Andrean et al., 2014; Lim et al., 2019; Shwter et al, 2016). Several studies have reported that P. macrocarpa leaf and fruit have multiple beneficial pharmacological activities, such as antimicrobials (Hendra et al., 2011), antioxidants (Lay, Karsani, Banisalam et al, 2014), anti‐cancers (Rahmawati et al., 2006), anti‐inflammatory (Tjandrawinata et al., 2011; Wiweko et al., 2015), antiproliferative (Wiweko et al, 2015; Tjandrawinata et al., 2011), sexual enhancement (Parhizkar et al., 2013), and may significantly reduce body weight gain and total cholesterol (Chong et al., 2011).…”
