The Fast Acoustic Imaging for Three-Dimensional Scattering Objects in an Oceanic Waveguide

Abstract

This paper is concerned with the inverse problem for reconstructing a3Dscattering object in an ocean waveguide from far-field measurements of scattered fields. An indicator sampling method for fast imaging such ascattering object is presented. As pecial feature of the method is that it does not depend on anyp hysical or geometric properties of the scattering object. Numerical results showthat the proposed method is valid for obtaining agood imaging of the location and shape of the scattering object, even when the far-field data are measured in alimited aperture and corrupted by noise. Generally,m ultiple scattering effects between the object and the waveguide boundaries have some influence the reconstruction of the scattering object.
