The genome sequence of the Common Snout Hoverfly, Rhingia campestris (Meigen, 1822)

Abstract: We present a genome assembly from an individual male Rhingia campestris (the Common Snout Hoverfly; Arthropoda; Insecta; Diptera; Syrphidae). The genome sequence is 720 megabases in span. Most of the assembly is scaffolded into five chromosomal pseudomolecules, including the assembled X sex chromosome. The mitochondrial genome has also been assembled and is 16.7 kilobases in length. Gene annotation of this assembly on Ensembl has identified 22,748 protein coding genes.
