Using a meta-analysis of more than 2,300 articles and book chapters, Zahn, Hawkins, et al (2008) reports that some factors, such as family dynamics, level of involvement in school, neighborhood of residence, and lack of availability of community-based programs, increased the risk of delinquency for both sexes.
