“…Paragloborotalia kugleri , which evolves from Paragloborotalia pseudokugleri (following Blow, ), has a great stratigraphic importance at the OMT. In fact, the Base of P. kugleri defines the lower boundary of Zone M1 (Berggren et al, ; Wade et al, ) and is used to approximate the O/Mb (Berggren et al, 1983, , 1995; Steininger et al, ). In the Lemme‐Carrosio section, the P. kugleri Base falls 2 m above the base of the Neogene, defined at the older end of Subchron C6Cn.2n (Steininger et al, ).…”
