Abstract:Graves’ disease and nodular toxic thyroid disease are the leading causes of hyperthyroidism. Iodine fortification (IF) among mild-to-moderate iodine deficiency populations is associated with transient increase in incident thyrotoxic nodular disease that may last up to 10 years.
