“…Schimmelmannia plumosa is reported for Barco Hundido (Playa Saldamando) (Pacheco-Ruiz and Aguilar-Rosas, 1984) and 2 km north of La Bocana, Baja California (Aguilar-Rosas et al, 1984). Both species are reported for California, but are infrequent (Abbott and Hollenberg, 1976;DeCew et al, 1981). Ever since the studies conducted by DeCew et al (1981), reports of Gloiosiphonia capillaris (Hudson) Carmichael 1971 for the coast of California should be referred to as Gloiosiphonia californica.…”

Agardh 1885 y Schimmelmannia plumosa (Setchell) Abbott 1961: la primera, citada (como Grateloupia jlicina (Lamouroux) C. Agardh) para Punta Descanso, boca del Río San Telmo (Dawson, 1945) y Punta Baja (Dawson 1953); la segunda, reportada para Barco Hundido (o Playa Saldamando) (Pacheco-Ruiz y Aguilar-Rosas, 1984) y 2 km al norte de La Bocana, Baja California (Aguilar-Rosas et al, 1984). Ambas especies están reportadas para California y son consideradas como poco comunes (Abbott y Hollenberg, 1976;DeCew et al, 1981). A partir de los estudios realizados por DeCew et al (1981), los registros de Gloiosiphonia capillaris (Hudson) Carmichael 1971, citados para la costa de California, deben ser referidos como Gloiosiphonia californica.…”
