The light speed versus the observer: the Kennedy–Thorndike test from GRAAL-ESRF

Abstract: High precision tests of the light speed constancy for all observers as of empirical basis of the Special Relativity have continuously been among the goals of advanced experimental studies. Based on the Compton Edge method proposed by us [1], a constraint on the one-way light speed isotropy and the Lorentz invariance violation has been obtained at the dedicated GRAAL experiment at European Synchrotron Radiation Facility (ESRF, Grenoble) [2,3,4,5]. Using the GRAAL's data we now get a new constraint on one of key… Show more

“…However, aligning our system in various directions in the celestial sphere, yielded isotropy in our measurements. Isotropy in a one-way light velocity measurement, using different techniques, was also reported recently by Ahmed et al (2013), and Gurzadyan and Margaryan (2018).…”

“…Therefore, we can falsify or constrain the parameter space of extended/modified theories of gravity by comparing their post-Newtonian (PN) and parameterized post-Newtonian (PPN) predictions to the corresponding GINGER measurements. The general purpose is to demonstrate that theories of gravity can be constrained not only by astrophysical and cosmological observations or space satellites but also by terrestrial experiments that can be, in principle, more easily tuned and controlled [79,80].…”

“…According to both classical Newton's physics and quantum physics (Relativity theory), the body speed and time are inversely correlated. (25) Slowing time creates a delayed TFP. MR increases accordingly with increase of body speed.…”
