This study aims to systematically identify, review, and assess the progression of sustainability orientation literature and provide an agenda for future research. We employed a systematic literature review (SLR) technique to select a sample of 93 studies from five databases: Web of Sciences, Scopus, Science Direct, Wiley Online Library, and Emerald Insight. The content analysis, aided by MaxQDA, was utilized for review and analysis purposes. The findings suggest that extant research on sustainability orientation can be categorized into six key themes: drivers of sustainability orientation, consequences/outcomes of sustainability orientation, multiple strategic orientations paradigm, elements of sustainability orientation, and crowdfunding. The current study critically evaluates the existing scholarship on the topic, reveals the limitations and knowledge gaps in the current body of literature, and suggests potential avenues for further advancement of knowledge in this area.Our study offers key implications for theory and practice.

There is a long-term dependence of most regions on federal budget subsidies in Russia. The policy of artificial financial equalization of the regions can create a dependent mood in weak regions and deprive the incentive to develop strong regions. In the Covid-19 era, the regions of the Russian Federation must find alternative sources of financing for their projects, including entrepreneurial ones, for example, through “people`s financing” and activation of territorial development based on the crowdfunding mechanism. The main purpose of the article is to consider the prospect of using crowdfunding as a sector of the distributed economy as an alternative financial tool to develop network interaction between business structures and self-government bodies in Russia. According to the authors, the development of such practices is due to several factors: the mixed results of applying self-taxation practices in the regions of Russia; in some cases, there is opposition to this mechanism by the population; the introduction in 2020 of a regulator of crowdfunding platforms; the growing involvement of citizens in various IT platforms, including investment. Entering into this project financing scheme for both individuals, business entities, and local governments allows optimizing the economic potential of all participants in this network, and obtaining a synergistic effect from combining their resources.

The Nexus between Digital Finance and Economic Development: Evidence from China

In the context of the digital economy and based on the characteristics of digital financial development in China, this paper investigates the effect of digital finance on economic growth and explores its influencing mechanism. A panel econometric model, mediating effect model, and instrumental variable method were employed to evaluate yearly data from 30 provinces of China from 2011 to 2018. The results show that the development of digital finance has significantly driven economic growth, which is quantitatively robust after the selection of historical data as instrumental variables and other robustness tests. A heterogeneity analysis proved that provinces in the central and western regions, which have a lower urbanization rate and lower physical capital, more clearly embody the facilitating impacts of digital finance on economic growth compared to their counterparts in other regions. Further analysis found that the development of digital finance has spurred the liberation of regional entrepreneurship, which in turn promoted economic growth—that is, there is an entrepreneurial channel by which digital finance could boost economic growth.
