This gradual transition of the elongated bubble/liquid film interface with increasing VSG is analogue to the transition from smooth stratified flow to annular through the wavy regime, studied by several authors (Chen et al, 1997;Hudaya et al, 2019;Wijayanta et al, 2022Wijayanta et al, , 2023.
