The Measurement of Diffusion Coefficients by Means of a Lamella Pulsation Diffusion Apparatus

Abstract: A new method to measure diffusion coefficients is described. It uses a pulsationdiffusion cell combined with a spectrophotometer which provides extinction-time curves. From these the diffusion coefficients can be determined. Nonlinearities between the diffusion current and the diffusion coefficient are taken into account, using a graphic method. It is based on the computation of the enhanced diffusion transfer during pulsation. The results are discussed and compared with data from the literature.
