The mediation-moderation effect on the nexus between social media adoption, customer satisfac-tion, social media competence and SMEs performance during COVID-19 pandemic

Abstract: Numerous studies have been conducted on individual and organizational adoption of social media, and many of these studies were conducted in advanced economies by focusing on large corporations. This study addresses the gap by examining the use of social media by SMEs in West Africa, notably Nigeria. Using a structured questionnaire, 682 small business owners were questioned regarding their thoughts on social media adoption: cost, privacy, convenience, and quality of service. The PLS-SEM result reveals a struct… Show more

“…In determining the convergent item-construct structure, since all the AVE values are greater than 0.5, it implies adequate convergent validity (Fornell and Larcker, 1981; Olaleye et al. , 2020, 2021a, b, c, ). Table 2 summarizes the results.…”

“…All items have outer loadings above 0.5 and CR (Cronbach's alpha and rho A) values above 0.7, as proposed by Dijkstra and Henseler (2015). In determining the convergent item-construct structure, since all the AVE values are greater than 0.5, it implies adequate convergent validity (Fornell and Larcker, 1981;Olaleye et al, 2020Olaleye et al, , 2021a. 3 reveals that the square root of AVE for each latent variable is greater than the inter-construct correlation for each construct in the measurement model, according to the Fornell-Larcker (1981) criterion.…”
