The microstructure and compressive properties of a sintered Fe–Mn–Al porous steel produced by blended elemental powder mixture

Abstract: In this study, powder compacts produced by mixed elemental Fe, Mn, Al and C powders without ball milling were sintered at [Formula: see text]C and [Formula: see text]C, respectively. The results revealed that intermetallic phases belonging to Fe2Al5 and Al8Mn5 appeared after pre-sintered at [Formula: see text]C.
