The minimum coincidence routing approach in wavelength-routed optical WDM networks

Abstract: Abstract-Management is a critical issue in optical networks. Highly impacting in management, routing in optical networks, is often decoupled into both the path selection and the wavelength assignment problems. In the former, shortest path based approaches are often applied to compute paths. Although such approaches offer advantages in terms of network loading, they are restricted by the fact, that routes are selected without taking into account parameters pertaining to any explicit and desired service guarante… Show more

“…Comparisons are made between the accuracy of the blockage probability for various traffic classifications and patterns [18]. According to [19], sparse partial WCs only need 2.4% converters under various load circumstances. Numerous scenarios are considered in the study of adaptive alternate routing [20].…”

“…Architecture of control plane performing the route and wavelength selection is also discussed [14]. There are many possible solutions to the RWA problem [15]. In [16], Physical Level Impairment (PLI) aware RWA problem is also surveyed, and many combinations of Routing, Wavelength Assignment, and Impairment Verification processes are presented.…”
