“…Consistent with prior literature, the dilemma of performance issue in hotels is related to the ambiguity of the performance measurement in one hand, and the presence of many different KPIs on the other hand (Anyaeche & Oluleye, 2009;Holcomb, Hoffart, & Fox, 2002;Khalaf & Salem, 2018;Mishra, Gunasekaran, Papadopoulos, & Dubey, 2018).…”

“…The impact of adopting TQM practices on various aspects of the hospital performance is studied in western literature (Sabella et al , 2014; Ju and Park, 2016; Sweis et al , 2016); Ahmed et al , 2017; Kanapathy et al , 2017; Modgil and Sharma, 2017; Oliveira et al , 2019). However, many studies on TQM practices highlighted that there are considerable differences in the benefits of implementing quality management practices between manufacturing and service sectors and its implementation is not always successful in service organizations (Kaynak, 2003; Gupta et al , 2005; Rönnbäck and Witell, 2008; Khalaf and Salem, 2018; Oliveira et al , 2019). Further, authors have pointed out the lack of empirical studies in the service sector compared to the manufacturing sector (Psomas et al , 2017; Khalaf and Salem, 2018).…”

“…Three trained fieldworkers, supervised by the researchers, were recruited for the field study. Due to difficulty in obtaining accurate databases for random sampling (Agyapong et al , 2019), we utilized quota and purposive sampling techniques, which compare favorably with techniques used in previous research (Khalaf and Salem, 2018). We administered two hundred and fourteen questionnaires to firms that accepted to participate in the study.…”
