The Optimal Control Policy for Point-to-Point Wireless Body Area Network Based on Simultaneous Time-Ratio and Transmission Power Allocation

Abstract: In this paper, we propose an optimal control policy based on time-ratio and transmission power allocation in wireless body area networks (WBANs), where the duty cycle is adopted. For the purpose of maximizing the information throughput, the whole duty cycle is divided into two states: sleep state and active state. During the sleep state, in order to transmit information from senor, the energy harvested in the sensor must exceed a certain threshold. In the active state, the process of transmitting information b… Show more

“…Due to the characteristics of WBAN, we must ensure the safety of the human body in the setting of parameters. Therefore, the setting of our simulation parameters is referred to [12]. In the body surface channel of the body area network, P L = 56.1dB, n = 5.8, d 0 = 10cm represents the reference distance, d 1 = 25cm represents the distance between AP and S 1 , and d 2 = 35cm, represents the distance between AP and S 2 .…”

“…Pak et al discussed a tier-based any cast protocols and also gave the solution for the routeing control overhead and multiple relays in the routeing [26]. In 2019, WSN optimal control policy for body area network was presented to optimise the duty-cycle based on time-ratio and transmitter power allocation by Ling et al [27]. A fuzzy-based energy effective protocol is proposed by Pau et al [28] and Jain et al [29].…”
