Abstract:A pacemaker is a device that senses heart pulses and sends electrical impulses when needed to activate the heart muscle and maintain a normal heart rhythm. There are temporary pacemakers for the treatment of transient arrhythmias and permanent ones for the treatment of persistent arrhythmias. The pacemaker continuously monitors the work of the heart.
