Abstract:In a tight-binding model, we find that the equation of the Green's function in a onedimensional mesoscopic ring threaded by a Aharonov-Bohm (AB) flux can be exactly solved. From the poles of the Green's function, the eigenvalues are obtained and are periodic in the AB flux with period h/e. However, the periodicity of the persistent currents is determined by the number of electrons in the ring.

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
