Abstract:The q-Onsager algebra O q has a presentation involving two generators W 0 , W 1 and two relations, called the q-Dolan/Grady relations. The alternating central extension O q has a presentation involving the alternating generatorsand a large number of relations. Let W 0 , W 1 denote the subalgebra of O q generated by W 0 , W 1 .
