Abstract:Although rare, laryngeal clefts may represent an underdiagnosed entity in the adult population. With increased awareness, they may be identified more frequently as a treatable cause of aspiration and recurrent pneumonia.
“…3) Laryngeal dislocation in man [20] where the entire affected arytenoid is displaced ventrally at rest due to subluxation of the crico‐arytenoid joint. (4) Laryngeal cleft in man most closely resembles the endoscopic observations described in this paper; however, in man it occurs at rest and is associated with oesophageal regurgitation [21]. They described the anomaly as the ‘ram sign’ in reference to the shape of the horns in that species.…”
Racing endoscopy could be used to correlate the sensitivity of diagnostic endoscopy during race-training or treadmill examination. The pathogenesis and significance of VMAD deserves further investigation.

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
