The relationship between dental implant papilla and dental implant mucosa around single‐tooth implant in the esthetic area: A retrospective study

Abstract: Objective The aim of the present study was (a) to evaluate the relationship between dental implant mucosa and dental implant papilla levels; and (b) to identify the clinical parameters associated with peri‐implant soft tissue stability over time. Materials and methods This is a retrospective study on a cohort of patients seeking a single‐tooth implant therapy in a private practice in the Paris area. Two independent examiners analyzed photographs and radiographs taken the day of definitive crown load (baseline)… Show more

“…In addition, the probability of clinically excellent results was shown to be more pronounced in the presence of ˃3 mm of KG. This is consistent with the results of two previous studies 43,44 . They stated that the absence of keratinized gingiva was associated with higher plaque accumulation, gingival inflammation, gingival recession, and attachment loss and altogether less peri‐implant soft tissue stability.…”

“…The stability of periimplant soft tissue is one of the key aspects of successful dental implant treatment because it provides sealing ability and stability of the marginal bone, prevents penetration of oral microorganisms, and enables good aesthetic results 10 . A considerable amount of literature from NCBI PubMed and Cochrane databases regarding morse taper internal abutment connection have been published.…”

“…5,6 Aby sprostać wysokim wymogom estetyczno-funkcjonalnym, szczególnie w szczęce w odcinku przednim, gdzie warunki anatomiczne najczęściej są niezadawalające, lekarz powinien posiadać wiedzę, doświadczenie i umiejętności w przygotowaniu miejsca, w którym będzie zlokalizowana implantoproteza. 7 Po utracie zębów, zwłaszcza w odcinku przednim, trudno jest utrzymać fizjologiczny kształt i układ tkanek miękkich w okolicy poekstrakcyjnej. 8 Z tego względu prawidłowe pozycjonowanie implantu jest kluczowe dla funkcji, trwałości i estetyki przyszłego uzupełnienia protetycznego.…”
