The relationship between homeobox B7 expression and the clinical characteristics of patient with prostate cancer

Abstract: Background The prognosis of patients with prostate cancer (PCa) remains poor. Methods GSE16560, GSE32448, GSE79957, GSE17951, and TCGA‐PRAD were reanalyzed to evaluate the expression of homeobox B7 (HOXB7) between PCa tissues and normal prostate tissues and to characterize the correlation between the expression of HOXB7 and the clinicopathological features of patients with PCa. Gene set enrichment analysis was conducted to investigate the mechanisms. Results HOXB7 was upregulated in PCa tissues (P = 0.0005). B… Show more

“…Human estrogen receptor-related receptor gamma (ERRγ) was reported to suppress cell proliferation and tumor growth of androgen-sensitive and androgen-insensitive PC cells [ 68 ] and JICD overexpression resulted in a depletion of ERRγ ( Figure S6A , ESRRG). In addition, homeobox (HOX) genes such as HOXB7 [ 69 ], HOXC8 [ 70 ], and HOXB13 [ 71 ], which are used as PC diagnostic markers, are involved in malignant cell transformation and/or cancer progression. HOXB13 is also a pivotal upstream regulator of AR-V7-driven transcriptomes that are often cell context-dependent in CRPC [ 71 ].…”

“…Moreover, previous studies have shown that abnormally elevated HOXB7 expression was significantly associated with tumor size, cervical lymph node metastasis, malignancy, and etc. [ 32 , 35 ]. Consistently, our data revealed that both bioinformatics analyses from multiple independent patient cohorts and immunohistochemistry in primary HNSCC samples revealed aberrant overexpression of HOXB7 in a large subset of patients examined.…”

“…As mentioned above, the prognostic value of intratumoral expression of HOXB7 and IL17RB has already been reported in the breast [13,14] and other cancers [15]. However, there are also reports that even serum levels of several intracellular proteins exert diagnostic or prognostic value [16,17].…”

“…First of all, please make sure to point out -in the text -the STRENGTHS and the NOVELTY of your study. Author response: According to this suggestion of the Editor, we have now expanded the explanation of strengths and novelty of the current study (Abstract, lines 2-7; Introduction section, page 2, lines 2-11 and Discussion section, page 12, lines [13][14][15][16][17][18].…”
