The natural environment and geographical environment provide the possibility for human survival and development and are also the premise of the formation of music culture. When studying the style characteristics and cultural types of music, more comprehensive and correct conclusions can be drawn only when considering various regional factors such as geography and topographic environment. If we want to explore the music of Xinjiang, we must understand the regional culture. The special geographical location of the Silk Road gives Xinjiang a foreign style compatible with Chinese and Western cultures. At the same time, because of the geographical environment of the Gobi Desert, the music style of Xinjiang is unique. This paper explores the relationship between the traditional music of Xinjiang and the Gobi desert, through the investigation and study of Xinjiang and various musical styles, which have certain reference significance for the study of the Chinese traditional culture.

The popular trend of today’s music can be obtained by deep excavation, analysis, and prediction of the audience’s preferences. Using huge music library resources and user behavior to form music big data and truly realizing the aggregation of audience preferences determine the popular development trend of music. Therefore, this paper will apply data mining (DM) technology, introduce neural network (NNS) theory, establish a prediction model of music fashion trend, predict and evaluate the music fashion trend according to the selected evaluation index, find the change of music fashion trend in time, and provide decision-making basis for music fashion trend. In this paper, the prediction of music popularity trend based on NNS and DM technology is studied. In the prediction of the number of songs played by 10 artists, the NNS algorithm proposed in this paper reduces the prediction effect from the original 0.074 and 0.045 to 0.044 and 0.032, respectively, and the error rates are reduced by 35.7% and 29.4%, respectively, compared with the learning algorithm and the decision tree algorithm. Among the three methods, the NNS algorithm in this paper has the highest accuracy. Therefore, it can be proved that the model proposed in this paper is more suitable for predicting the trend of music popularity. In the end, it can accurately control the trend of pop music and also realize the aggregation of user preferences to determine the trend of pop music.

The researcher of this paper has found that poetry and lyrics are similar and can be compared in several ways. However, there are not many studies about this. Learning the differences and similarities in poetry and lyrics can help writers enhance their creative abilities and step up their understanding in musical ways like tempo and in writing ways like words. Based on the previous literature review, the researcher has generally summed them up and drawn some conclusions. In the introduction, some relationships between poetry and lyrics were illustrated and some existing problems were raised. It also generalized the study ways and aspects of this paper, giving an overall view of the whole passage. This paper analyzed imagery perspective at first and found that there are no obvious distinctions; in the way of content, the researcher first listed some elements in poem writing and then explained both differences and common grounds in the aspect of thought expressing, narrating content and interactions with readers or the audience, raising several examples of lyrics in stage performing. The paper discussed their dissimilitude in forms. Next, the researcher studied the language processing of the two issues, analyzing poetry and lyrics from words using translation and a rhetorical skill: repetition.
