The Research on the Construction and the Photocatalytic Performance of BiOI/NH2-MIL-125(Ti) Composite

Abstract: The BiOI/NH2-MIL-125(Ti) composite photocatalyst with excellent photocatalytic performance was prepared by the solvothermal method. For the BiOI/NH2-MIL-125(Ti) (BNMT) system, the contents of NH2-MIL-125(Ti) in BNMT-4, BNMT-5, BNMT-7, BNMT-9, and BNMT-10 were 4 wt %, 5 wt %, 7 wt %, 9 wt %, and 10 wt %, respectively. XRD, XPS, SEM, and TEM characterizations indicated that BiOI/NH2-MIL-125(Ti) was successfully prepared. Brunauer, Emmett, and Teller (BET) and UV–vis diffuse reflectance spectra photoelectrochemic… Show more

“…higher than that (530.2 eV) of the lattice oxygen by 1.1–1.4 eV (Figure S7). Such an assignment is further strengthened in view of the asymmetric line shape of the doublet seen in the XPS spectrum collected at the B.E. in reference to the Bi 4f core-level (Figure c), of which the deconvolution gives rise to two relatively small components at 164.6 and 159.3 eV that are in excellent agreement with the B.E.s of the Bi 4f 5/2 and Bi 4f 7/2 emission lines of the Bi–O bonding in the amorphous bismuth oxide reported in the literature (Figure S7).…”

“…As illustrated in Figure 4 D, the level of energy of the band edge at EVB of Ag@CP-BNQDs was estimated 2.1 eV, which is more positive than that of (OH – / · OH) (1.99 eV vs NHE); so that, h+ at VBM is able to oxidize OH – to produce · OH. At the same time, the CBM potential is measured to be −0.4 eV versus NHE, which is more negative than that of O 2 /O 2 ·– (−0.33 eV vs NHE), 37 , 84 so the electrons at the CBM band edge can be injected to O 2 to form O 2 ·– ; these results are in good agreement with the scavenger trapping experiments, which strongly indicate that all active species are involved in the photodegradation of tetracycline over Ag@CP-BNQDs. Hence, the loading of silver atoms provides extra orbitals (bands), which facilitate the movement of electrons and they provide a p–n junction, which slows down the recombination rate.…”
