“…As the first space‐based platform in China for both earthquake observation and geophysical field measurement, the China Seismo‐Electromagnetic Satellite (CSES; also called ZHANGHENG‐1), was launched successfully on February 2, 2018. Ten days later, it began its global observation (Shen XH et al, ). During its five‐year mission, it will provide nearly continuous data of natural electromagnetic (EM) field waveforms and spectra, in situ plasma parameters, electron density profiles and tomography, and energetic particle flux and energy spectra.…”

“…The main objectives of this mission are to monitor the near‐Earth space environment and investigate possible electromagnetic perturbations related to natural disasters and human activities (Shen XH et al, ). The CSES can also be applied to study problems in many related fields, such as space physics, radio wave propagation, geophysics, and earthquake sciences.…”

“…The CSES is a low Earth orbit satellite, with geomagnetic field measurement as one of its main scientific tasks (Shen XH et al, ). According to the task and platform characteristics, the HPM includes FGM (Fluxgate Magnetometer) and CDSM (Coupled Dark State Magnetometer) probes, designed to be used with specific in‐orbit data processing methods (Zhou B, ).…”
