“…It was found that PbPdO 2 exhibits intrinsic characteristics of narrow band gap (0.051 eV), which was much smaller than that (0.4 eV) of the PbPd 0.75 Co 0.25 O 2 slab. In our previous experimental work, PbPdO 2 with (002) preferred orientation was prepared, and its band gap was found to be close to zero [ 22 ]. It is suggested that the localized Co would be responsible for the large band gap of 0.35 eV for the PbPd 0.75 Co 0.25 O 2 bulk material.…”
