The structure and resistance characteristic of reduced graphene oxide paper under atomic oxygen exposure

Abstract: To study the effects of low earth orbit (LEO) environment on film surface structure and resistance characteristics, reduced graphene oxide paper (rGOP) was irradiated by atomic oxygen (AO) in ground‐based simulation facility. A rough pits surface, chemical oxidation, and change in lamina thickness were found after AO exposure. The erosion yield under AO attack changed from 3.56 × 10−25 to 4.04 × 10−25 cm3/atom. The resistance data exhibited a linear relationship between R0/R and AO fluence, and the maximum AO … Show more

“…The pristine PU sponge was immersed in the GO aqueous solution and then dried at high temperature to obtain a GO-coated sponge (GO-PU). To address the hydrophilicity of the GO-PU [36], silanization modification with DTMS was conducted to introduce low-energy materials on the surface of the GO-PU [37,38]. Then DTMS-GO-PU was treated by a thermal curing reduction process at a high temperature in an argon-hydrogen atmosphere to obtain a superhydrophobic and superlipophilic DTMS-rGO-PU sponge.…”

“…In most of the research, a ground-based AO (AO) simulation facility was used to erode lubricated film, molecular dynamics was also a helpful tool to simulate the AO erosion process. In order to improve oxidation resistance and good lubricating in air, Ren [ 18 ] deposited MoS 2 /Pb–Ti composite and multilayer coatings by unbalanced magnetron sputtering system. Furthermore, it is rarely mentioned that different AO erosion times will have an influence on the tribological properties of MoS 2 film.…”
