The main goal of this study is to evaluate the impact of restrictive measures introduced in connection with COVID-19 on consumption in renewable energy markets. The study will be based on the hypothesis that similar changes in human behavior can be expected in the future with the further spread of COVID-19 and/or the introduction of additional quarantine measures around the world. The analysis also yielded additional results. The strongest reductions in energy generation occurred in countries with a high percentage (more than 80%) of urban population (Brazil, USA, the United Kingdom and Germany). This study uses two models created with the Keras Long Short-Term Memory (Keras LSTM) Model, and 76 and 10 parameters are involved. This article suggests that various restrictive strategies reduced the sustainable demand for renewable energy and led to a drop in economic growth, slowing the growth of COVID-19 infections in 2020. It is unknown to what extent the observed slowdown in the spread from March 2020 to September 2020 due to the policy’s impact and not the interaction between the virus and the external environment. All renewable energy producers decreased the volume of renewable energy market supply in 2020 (except China).

It is crucial to select the best supplier for a company because the product development will be affected when the wrong supplier is selected. In this study, the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) method is implemented to choose the best supplier for a printing company. However, the AHP method could not identify the influence among criteria. Therefore, it is integrated with the Decision-Making Trial and Evaluation Laboratory (DEMATEL) method. The objectives of this study are to select the best supplier for a printing company and determining the interrelationship between the criteria by identifying the influences of each criterion to other criteria. A discussion with the decision-maker was held to finalize the criteria and suppliers used in this study. The criteria used are cost (C1), quality (C2), relationship with the supplier (C3), warranty (C4), and machinery safety (C5), while the chosen alternatives are Supplier 1 (S1), Supplier 2 (S2), and Supplier 3 (S3). Experimental results show that the ranking order for the criteria is C1 > C5 > C2 > C4 > C3, and the ranking order for the supplier is S2 > S3 > S1, which concludes that S2 is the best supplier to supply the printing machine to the company. As for the interrelationship between criteria, the criterion that highly influences the other criteria is quality (C2), and the less influential criterion is the warranty (C4). To conclude, the proposed method is appropriate in selecting the best supplier since the findings correspond to the decision maker's choices. Furthermore, this method provides relevant information to the decision-maker about the interrelationship between each criterion and which criterion should be given more attention.

The process of technology management contains various stages, such as the identification, selection, acquisition, implementation, and maintenance of technologies. In the case of power generation companies, a key aspect of the selection stage is the choice of generation technologies for newly commissioned units. The investment decision depends on many factors, primarily economic, environmental, social, technological, and legal, and represents a complex multi-criteria problem. Currently, the decision is further complicated by the often unpredictable tightening of environmental standards, forcing the closure of conventional sources, on which many countries have so far based their energy security. The paper analyzes the problem of choosing one of the so-called clean coal technologies to be implemented in conditions of transformation of the power sector. In this paper, five selected clean coal technologies are characterized, and the SMART method is adopted to technology selection. The following technologies were considered: supercritical coal-fired power plant (with and without CCS), IGCC power plant (with and without CCS), and IGCC power plant with CCS and integrated hydrogen production. Nine practical criteria (in three main groups: environmental, technological, economic) for comparing technologies are defined, computational experiments performed, and conclusions from the research presented. The work was based on the literature study of multi-criteria decision support and an analysis of power sector needs based on the example of the Polish power sector. The conducted research, apart from the technology recommendation, led to the conclusion that the chosen method may be applied to decision-making in the field of power generation technology management. The study also indicated the potential direction of the development of a power generation structure in a situation where a component of ensuring energy security is the use of available coal fuels.
