The Synthesis and Surface Properties of Newly Eco-Resin Based Coconut Oil for Superhydrophobic Coating

Abstract: The paper presents the synthesis of newly eco-resin based on coconut oil for superhydrophobic coating. Superhydrophobicity of the coating provide a self-cleaning or water-repellent characteristic that prevents peeling, thereby extend the life expectancy of the coating. The use of newly synthesized eco-resin offer a sustainable, eco-friendly and cost effective source of nature. The synthesis and formulation of different percentages of coconut oil which is 20, 40, 60 and 80 weight by weight percentage (wt/wt%) c… Show more

“…Then, we proceed to produce superhydrophobic coating by adding with hydrophobic agents in the solutions as self-cleaning properties. The hydrophobic agent was prepared by three phase that was published in the Solid State Phenomenon Journal [10]. The preparation of beetroots pigment in superhydrophobic coating is important since it is the major contributor in the self-clean and superhydrophobic trait that increases the sustainability.…”

“…Plastic recycling remains steadily low in Europe, compared to other recyclable materials such as paper and metals. In 2016, the recycling rate was just terminated 30%, when approximately 8.4 million tons of plastic waste was recycled [12], [16]. The reuse and recycling of plastic wastes are widely progressed which is the practice of recovering used materials from the waste stream and then incorporating those same materials into the manufacturing processes [17].…”

“…The solutions will heat at 1000 for 60 minutes. Lastly the superhydrophobic coating will pour into the spray and gun and spray on the dyed cotton fabrics [19]. The method of coating was spraying technique.…”
