The synthesis and X-ray structure of the heterometallic tetranuclear butterfly cluster complex, [Fe₂Rh₂(CO)₈{µ-Ph₂PC(CH₂)PPh₂}₂]

Abstract

Treatment of the heterometallic complex [(OC)4Fe{p-Ph2PC( =CH2)PPh,}RhCI(CO)] with Me3N0 affords the tetranuclear cluster [Fe2Rh2(CO)8{p-Ph2PC(=CH2)PPh2}21 which has been characterised by X-ray crystallography as having a butterfly structure with wing-tip Rh atoms.
