Abstract:In wildland fires, the turbulent motions of air in the convective plume can significantly affect fire spread through processes such as spotting, local wind field modifications and the initiation of pyrocumulus and pyrocumulonimbus (i.e., cumuliform cloud types associated with fire activity).
