This chapter assesses the role of moral philosophies in establishing a framework for ethical thinking and practice in business. It advances a theocentric ethical approach and pluralistic business purposes as the pathway to successful ethical organisations that strengthen and sustain the social and environmental fabric of society. The profit maximisation goal, rooted in capitalism, has, in many cases, impeded moral integrity among business executives. Ethical thoughts are used in the formulation of laws, regulations, and ethical principles in business with an intent to guide ethical conduct and operations. Despite these efforts, ethical misconduct persists. Illustrations reveal businesses that have integrated a theocentric ethical approach and pluralistic business purposes, achieved long-term business success and advanced the well-being of their employees, the society and environment.
