Theoretical and Experimental Analysis of Loading Impact From the Progressive Gear on the Lift Braking Distance With the Use of the Free Fall Method

Abstract: The gear which is the central safety element of the friction drive lift during braking is exposed to overloading connected with changeable weight which loads the lift braking system. In the article the results of numerical analysis for braking process of CHP 2000 type progressive gear distinguished by an innovative design have been presented. The numerical analysis was conducted with the use of a simulation of the gear roller displacement depending on changeable loading with the support of Abaqus/ CAE software… Show more

“…Theoretical modal analysis is often based on the numerical grounds which are broadly used to verify dynamics of tested construction. With reference to the above, the following empirical dependence (1) [6] can express an exemplary formula of the mechanical system dynamic movement: (1) where: {ü},{u̇},{u} -represent the vectors respectively: acceleration, speed and displacement, |M|,|C|,|K| -represent the matrices respectively: mass, stiffness and dampening.…”

“…Finite element method is touched in many publications also in the study [9] in which the author highlights a possibility to use FEM method in designing process of thin-walled elements. Taking into account the possibilities given by the finite element method, the authors in their research study [6] focused on the application of FEM to analyse the loading variability of CHP 2000 type gear and the impact of loading changeability on the braking distance. The numerical analyses results were verified on the test bench with the loading of 8000 N and 12000 N applied.…”

“…It is adopted to design the carrying frames for the motor vehicles [28] and to analyse the stiffness of the carrying structures in numerically-controlled machines [29]. Furthermore, it is applied to examine the impact of the lift braking force on the deformation of a plastic guide [30,31] or subcritical conditions of clamped thin-walled profiles [32]. It is also used in many other sectors of industry connected with modelling the effort aspects [33][34][35][36].…”

“…Sheet metal forming includes many different processes i.e. : the processes that take into account friction [5,6], but mainly cold plastic forming processes. A detailed classification of the stamping process is presented in [10].…”
