Theoretical and Experimental Study of a Saturated Near Travelling Wave Amplifier Working at 1 Gbit/s and 4.8 Gbit/s

Abstract: The behavior of a semi-conductor laser Near Traveling Wave Amplifier (NTWA) has been studied in a 1 Gbit/s and 4.8 Gbit/s system. A low pattern effect has been observed when the NTWA was working at a high input power causing a gain saturation. Theoretical modelling results have confirmed these experimental measurements.
