Thermal Behavior of Amorphous Fe-Based Alloys during Heating up to TC

Subject classification: 75.50.Bb; S1.1The tendency of iron-based glasses to show non-monotonic changes of Curie temperature (T C ) as well as a dependence of the magnetic behavior on the metalloid atoms alloying with iron, was examined by magnetic measurements and Mö ssbauer spectroscopy. Depending on the metalloid/iron ratio and on the range in which T C is manifested, the average increase of T C per Fe atom substituted by a metalloid one varies from about 7 C to 26 C. The non-monotonic changes of T C are ascribed to the formation of "bridging complexes", while the changes with respect to the temperature range are interpreted by the mechanism of charge transfer through the degree of fluctuations.
