“…The weak band at 3570 cm -1 present in halloysite may arise from H-bonding between surface OH-groups and interlayer water [92]. For illitic shale [97], the FTIR spectrum (Figure 8) shows the OH-stretching band at 3624 cm -1 accompanied by a strong absorption at 3423 cm -1 that is allocated to OH stretching vibrations of water molecules not released upon heating of the KBr pellet [94]. The Si-O stretching band is present at 1027 cm -1 , and a doublet in the 825-750 cm -1 range is assigned to the vibration of Si-O-Al moieties [98].…”

“…No segregation or bleeding was observed for the blended cements. In general, the use of pozzolans reduces the early strength of the matrix caused by the dilution effect (Bouchikhi et al 2019;Irassar et al 2019;Safhi et al 2020).…”

“…analyses are valuable techniques used to determine the thermal transformation of minerals: dehydration, dehydroxylation, decarbonation, oxidation, decomposition, and phase transition or melting depending on their composition. However, this type of analysis cannot detect the structural change that occurs without mass loss, for example chlorite or illite collapse, which are studied by XRD and FT-IR analyses(Irassar et al 2019). The TGA-DSC analysis results are shown in Fig.1and Fig.2.…”
