Abstract:In an unconventional superconductor impurities may scatter electron-like and hole-like quasiparticles differently. Such electron-hole asymmetry appears when the impurity scattering phase shift is intermediate between the Born and unitary limits and leads to an expectation for large thermoelectric effects. Here, we examine the thermoelectric response of a d-wave superconductor connected to normal-metal reservoirs under a temperature bias using a fully self-consistent quasiclassical theory. The thermoelectricall… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
