Combined Framework of Multicriteria Methods to Identify Quality Attributes in Augmented Reality Applications

This study proposes a combined framework of multicriteria decision methods to describe, prioritize, and group the quality attributes related to the user experience of augmented reality applications. The attributes were identified based on studies of high-impact repositories. A hierarchy of the identified attributes was built through the multicriteria decision methods Fuzzy Cognitive Maps and DEMATEL. Additionally, a statistical analysis of clusters was developed to determine the most relevant attributes and apply these results in academic and industrial contexts. The main contribution of this study was the categorization of user-experience quality attributes in augmented reality applications, as well as the grouping proposal. Usability, Satisfaction, Stimulation, Engagement, and Aesthetics were found to be among the most relevant attributes. After carrying out the multivariate analysis, two clusters were found with the largest grouping of attributes, oriented to security, representation, social interaction, aesthetics, ergonomics of the application, and its relationship with the user’s emotions. In conclusion, the combination of the three methods helped to identify the importance of the attributes in training processes. The holistic and detailed vision of the causal, impact, and similarity relationships between the 87 attributes analyzed were also considered. This framework will allow the generation of a baseline for the use of multicriteria methods in research into relevant aspects of Augmented Reality.

Healthcare services and organizations rely on Electronic Health Records (EHRs) to manage, store, and transmit patient data records. Consequently, EHRs play a crucial role in providing high-quality services and maintaining the privacy and security of patients' sensitive data. However, designing such complex systems with security and privacy concerns is anything but simple. This study aims to propose a software reference architecture (SRA) tailored for Electronic Health Records (EHRs) with security and privacy considerations, intending to enhance the development of these systems. To achieve this goal, we analyze the classification of reference architectures (RAs), taking into account the primary security and privacy requirements of EHRs along with well-established architectural design methods. We propose a layered architecture for SRA with privacy and security considerations. Subsequently, we derive the following five architecture views for SRA: the feature diagram, the context diagram, the decomposition view, the layered view, and the deployment view. Each view showcases the SRA software architecture from a different perspective.Moreover, we conducted an evaluation of the proposed SRA through its application in a case study. Specifically, we applied the proposed SRA and derived the application architecture from a study focused on Brazilian EHRs. Our analysis highlights the potential issues arising from the absence of an SRA tailored for EHRs, particularly regarding privacy and security concerns surrounding patient data. Through this case study, we demonstrate the practical applicability of our proposed SRA in enhancing EHR systems.

As Japan's vision regarding Society 5.0 is unfolding, several digital architectures are (being) designed and constructed. Although Society 5.0 is extensively researched and its application is illustrated in several domains, little research is conducted regarding digital architectures under Society 5.0. The aim of this paper is to identify and analyze digital architectures that are (being) designed and constructed under Society 5.0 from an enterprise architecture perspective. Extending the results of related studies, a systematic literature review is conducted to find out which enterprise architecture frameworks and principles are utilized to create digital architectures under Society 5.0. The initial search in three scientific databases resulted in a sample of 857 documents. After removing duplicates and screening based on abstracts, 116 documents have been analyzed. This revealed a variety of 37 digital architectures in different domains. The main finding is that the analyzed digital architectures mainly use conceptual and system representations, make little use of established enterprise architecture frameworks, are not based on explicit principles, and do not refer to a reference architecture for Society 5.0. This paper presents an enterprise architecture perspective on Society 5.0 and is considered of value for scholars and enterprise architects that are interested in digital architectures under Society 5.0. This study is limited to scientific databases and selected published articles. Empirical research is required to validate the findings. As the interest in Society 5.0 is increasing, it is recommended to develop reference architectures and guiding principles to support digital transformation processes. Future research can contribute to develop prescriptive design knowledge and supporting methods for designing, constructing, and evaluating digital architectures under Society 5.0.
