Abstract:In this paper, we extend to the three-dimensional case the numerical study previously performed in a two-dimensional framework for a complex coupled fluid-kinetic model describing respiratory aerosols. The specificity of this model lies in the fact that it takes into account the airways humidity and the resulting hygroscopic effects on the aerosol droplets, namely their size variation. The air is described through a system of partial differential equations: the incompressible Navier-Stokes equations for the ai… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
