Abstract:Background: Acute coronary syndrome (ACS) is caused by arterial thrombosis and is associated with sustained activation of coagulation. Clotting requires interactions of coagulation factors with aminophospholipids (aPL): phosphatidylserine (PS) and phosphatidylethanolamine (PE) on membrane surfaces.
