Throughput and delay characteristics of ARQ transport protocols over LEO and GEO satellite networks

Abstract: ABsTRACr In this paper we first extend the performance analysis of existing point-to-point Automatic Repeat Request(ARQ) protocols to M-node end-toend users. The M-node end-toed users are considered as one virmal cirCuit(VC) to derive throughput and delay characteristics using Norton equivalent queuing model. The analysis is applied to ARQ transport protocols with Geo-stationary Orbit(GE0) and Low-Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite communication links.
