Timber Dues as a Means of Silvicultural Control of Cutting

Abstract: In high-grade lumber fowsts retention of a high proportion of the volume as glwwins stock i s fundamental. Since diameter limit is in vome as a method of cutting control, a simple method of instituting silvicultural treatment would he a sliding scale of dues that would place a premium on the selection of the trees of larger diameter and the leaving of smaller diameters that are, in any case, almost marginal in their yield value.
