Time-Scale Separation in Power System Swing Dynamics: Singular Perturbations and Coherency

Abstract: Large power systems often exhibit slow and fast electromechanical oscillations between interconnected synchronous machines. The slow interarea oscillations involve coherent groups of machines swinging together.
